- My name is Shana Chambers. I am both an artist and a teacher. I have been performing my entire life as a vocalist and teaching in traditional classrooms and museums for 10+years.
- Tell us how you feel about arts education
- Arts education is crucial in the preservation of a society. Arts education promotes cultural literacy and gives students gifted in performing arts an outlet for thier talents and impetus to acquire an education. As a student in DPS there were many times I thought about dropping out of school. My involvement in and committment to the arts (choir, band, art club) kept me motivated and enrolled in school.
